BUILDING FUND PROJECT

OUR PRESENT SITUATION
a) Growing congregation - The ELIM FGA is presently conducting four services in English, Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and Tamil. It started with 140 number of registered members in year of 1996 and today has grown to 385 registered members. Please refer the chart below.
b) Due to this significant growth situation, we are currently facing space constraints to accommodate the growing number of members.
c) Lack of facilities - hall, sanctuary, library, Sunday school, kitchen, activity room, car park, dining hall, management office, indoor game area and dormitories for guest speakers. Furthermore our current leased space was only intended to be a temporary arrangement and has become inadequate for our ongoing growth. Believe our great new "Building" will provide the space and facilities necessary to dramatically expand our current programs, enabling the Elim FGA to fully realize its mandate and goals.
d) Unable to perform social services - conducting computer labs and tuition classes and other community services and social needs.
e) Currently we hold our services at the hall of St. Nicholas School for the Blind. We feel the consequence of our lively services is causing a disturbance to the occupants of the school.
f) Our total monthly expenditure for rental is approximately RM 5000 per month for the following premises:
- meeting venue at St. Nicholas
- mission house for guest
- church office for staff
IT'S CLEAR THAT GOD HAS LED US THROUGH OUR EFFORTS TO ACCOMMODATE OUR CHURCH GROWTH! HERE ARE SOME FACTS:
* Our church leadership considered purchasing a new property (located at Penang Island) four years ago, but it was too expensive at that time. Our leaders continued to pray and wait patiently for God to show us another opportunity.
* Praise God ! Today we believe this planned location gives us a visible opportunity to let the light of Jesus shine on our community and to reach out to our neighbors.
* The elders have asked that a comprehensive building committee be formed to assess current ministry limitations and future needs.
GOD IS CLEARLY WORKING THROUGH PEOPLE AND SITUATIONS TO DIRECT OUR PATH TO REACH OTHERS FOR CHRIST.
OUR GOAL
"To BUILD a building with an estimated cost of RM 2,000,000 by the year of 2003."

WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW & UPCOMING EVENTS:
a) The building committee, composed of numerous subcommittees, is gathering information, sourcing for ideas and prayerfully preparing for the fund raising project.
b) The fund raising project is intended to be completed by 2003.
c) We are praying for God's hand to be on this planning process.
d) In aid of this fund raising project the "Royal Eagles" Elim FGA Youth Fellowship of Tamil Congregation would be organizing a Concert.
The theme of our auspicious event is called "Festival Of Joy" scheduled as below:

Please continue to pray for our church growth efforts, the work of the building committee and members of each subcommittee. Specifically, please pray for:
1) GUIDANCE and BLESSING
That we will continue to seek God's direction.
2) UNITY
That we will share a common vision for how God can use our church now and in the future to reach others.
3) FAITHFULNESS
Faith that God will provide all of the finances necessary.
4) CHEERFULL GIVERS
Also pray for "senders and donors" who will be channels of God's provision.
